SAT Subject Tests

Many colleges require or recommend one or more SAT Subject Tests for admission.* The SAT Subject Tests, previously called SAT II, are one-hour, primarily multiple choice tests that measure knowledge and skills in particular subjects in the general areas of history, social studies, mathematics, sciences, and languages. In addition, you can enhance your college application, demonstrate knowledge you’ve gained outside the classroom, and potentially place out of introductory courses.

*Be sure to check with the individual schools regarding SAT Subject Tests requirements.

The Math and language tests are best taken after at least two years of study. Subject tests in the areas of history, social studies, or sciences should be taken as soon as possible after finishing that course while the material is still fresh in the student’s mind.
