Initial Consultation
At A+, our goal is to create an instructional program individualized to meet your student’s specific support, enrichment, or test prep needs. During the initial consultation, we ask about your student’s learning needs, personality, strengths, interests, schedule, and any other relevant information we need to best advise you about how to move forward.
Diagnostic Testing
We start every program with diagnostic testing to identify the specific areas in which your student needs support or enrichment. In the case of SAT/ACT test prep, this also gives us insight into which test, the SAT or the ACT, is a better fit for your student’s strengths.
Cognitive Assessment with Mindprint
Our partnership with Mindprint is a critical component of every test prep program. This cognitive assessment gives our tutors and your student key insights into how your student learns, applicable test prep strategies, and other tools for providing your student with the best possible instructional program.
Curriculum Design
Based on the information you provide during our intake, your student’s diagnostic scores, any other testing reports or documentation you provide, and the Mindprint report, we design an individualized program of instruction. Our goal with every program is to help each student achieve her educational potential.
Tutor Assignment
After we learn about your student’s personality, learning needs, and schedule, we will match him with one of our world class tutors. Our tutors are all highly vetted and trained, each having received top scores in test prep and years of experience with a wide range of subjects, grades, and student support needs.
Ongoing Monitoring
Our goal is to keep you informed and up-to-date about your student’s progress. You will receive lesson notes after every tutoring session. We will also connect with you regularly, and use both diagnostic testing and school grade reports to ensure we are providing the support or enrichment your student needs to succeed.
